Item Description
4x6.5" w/5" long wire suspended from bicycle. Litho tin and metal. No maker's mark but of American manufacture c. 1910. Wheels are grooved to rest on a tight string and the figure has riveted joints at arms and legs allowing it to move as if peddling the toy as it moves across the string. There is additional wire w/loop to provide a steadying effect and keep the bear on the string. Bear is designed as a Roosevelt bear wearing pince-nez eyeglasses plus green vest and red coat. Moderate wear and handling. Some rusting on metal bicycle frame w/moderate wear on painted bear. Overall Fine. A great toy from the height of Theodore Roosevelt's popularity.
