Item Description
1" with lightly tanned W&H back paper. This chemical firm was founded in Cincinnati in 1839 to make sulfuric acid. However, it quickly relocated to Cleveland to supply the city's growing number of refineries. Expansion to eastern locations followed and in WWI it entered the explosives field. 1928 brought consolidation with E.I. Du Pont. A rare award, only our second seen, for 30 days straight war work. Exc. Rare.
