Item Description
1.25". Back paper carries Rochester, NY union bug (i.e. Bastian Bros) but names button jobber "Ann St. Badge & Novelty Co. " in NYC. Reverse has tiny 1/8" hairline of cello that did not perfectly fold under the collet but lays flat. Superb color depicts lady with hat and floral bouquet sitting side-saddle on the back of a large grizzly bear, the official animal of California. Rim text names "Admission Day" and "San Francisco 1910". California joined the union as a free state Sept 9, 1860. Beautiful, Exc. and one known to us. Rare.
