Item Description
This historic movie button was used at the Loew's Grand Theatre the night of Dec. 15, 1939 when some 18,000 people gathered outside under the kleig lights and before the specially decorated theatre front to catch a glimpse of arriving stars such as Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh who are pictured in their roles as Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara.  Original buttons, sometimes with a ribbon bearing the movie title and sometimes without, were used in the larger 1.75" size as well as this 1.25" size. Both sizes are rare, but the smaller is more so. Only our third 1.25". Glossy, NM.
