Item Description
Large and impressive 47x63.25" movie poster for the original 1933 French release of the RKO film directed and produced by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack and starring Fay Wray, Robert Armstrong and Bruce Cabot. Poster is nondescript in nature, a true teaser poster as it is dominated by larger "King Kong" name and brief French text that translates to "...And Soon King Kong." Poster has been folded as issued and is aged w/more noticeable aging along fold lines, splits/tears at fold crease intersections and holes at central fold crease intersections (most notably at center right, which has larger hole). Back of poster has archival tape repairs to stabilize tears/splits along fold lines. Pin holes at corners, w/tearing at upper left. Lower left is missing .75x1" corner piece. Scattered edge wear. VG overall, but a prime candidate for linen-mounting. Rare movie poster and a must for King Kong fans.
