Item Description
7/8". No maker. c. 1925 produced during the period around The State of Tennessee v. John Thomas Scopes that featured the famous debate between Clarence Darrow and Bryan. Groups of fundamentalists and anti-evolutionists had already begun to band together forming groups to fight the teaching of Evolution in state supported schools. In California the group took the name Bryan Bible League and produced this button for supporters. Only minor wear. NM. Bryan died in July of 1925, just five days after the conclusion of the trial.
