Item Description
Previously, we knew of two different 1.25" real photo buttons showing Bob and his wagon hitched two buffaloes. This 7/8" real photo is a new discovery for us. No maker. The fixed horizontal pin is gone but replaced with a standard brass spring pin. Moderate foxing, mostly upper left and curl at 11 o'clock has a surface crack 1/16"long. Button retains full gloss and all details are clear. Seated in his wagon with a white dog, is the Pierre, South Dakota saloon owner who side-lined in training buffalo to accept a saddle and rider, being hitched to pull wagons and in 1907 even face off against bulls in a Mexican bullfighting ring. In addition to the text quoted in our title (appearing upper right on the button) with magnification it also reads: "Copyright 06 By Clarke" and at very bottom "Yokum And His Buffalo Team". Fine. One known.
