Item Description
6" long. Applied portraits of Washington and Lincoln, w/applied portrait of General Ambrose Burnside below. "4th of July 1776" at top w/"4th of July 1866" below. Text just below Washington and Lincoln portrait reads "Gone But Not Forgotten." During this period in 1866, Burnside was currently serving as Governor of Rhode Island. He would later also serve as a U.S. Senator representing Rhode Island from 1875 until his death in 1881. Slight fading on red color in ribbon w/fraying along the top edge.
