Item Description
3x5x4" tall. c. 1908. Cast metal figure of a possum seated on log by a 1.5" tall removable brass insert intended to hold matches or toothpicks. The front of the figure holds a 1.5" dia. celluloid color insert of Wm H Taft. Obviously a reference to Taft being "Billy Possum" as opposed to Teddy Roosevelt being a "Teddy Bear."
