Item Description
1.25". Curl has apparent name of photo copyright holder "©Baker MGT Service, 122 N. 50th St., Phila." In addition, curl has name of button maker "Phila. Badge Co." Great photo of Robinson in Dodgers uniform. Jackie made his Major League debut on April 15, 1947 for Branch Rickey's Brooklyn Dodgers, becoming the first African American ballplayer in the modern Major Leagues. Robinson would go on to win the National League Rookie of the Year award in 1947 and would follow that up w/an NL MVP award two years later, in 1949. Inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1962. Scattered trace of surface wear mostly only seen upon magnification. Still totally bright and glossy w/strong red color, no fading of the lettering. VF. Our last example sold for $1K in 2022. A desirable Jackie button.
