Item Description
16x21" overall. "Washington" name appears at bottom of this very well executed embroidery/needlepoint fabric. His 1.25"x1.75" oval pencil-on-cloth profile appears on tombstone w/cherub above. Lady Liberty bows her head as she stands graveside. Exquisitely detailed work of art w/leaves on trees, flowers, vegetation and a small church in background. Colors are muted resulting in a pastel appearance. The fabric remains under glass in its original wood frame w/gold accent. Top back has brass clamp w/threaded screw to adjust to the fire screen pole on which it would have been affixed. A truly unique piece of Washington memorial folk art. VF.
