Item Description
Ticket is 3x5" on stock. Ribbon is 7" long. Dated October 19, 1962. A few tiny pin holes at top of ribbon, otherwise crisp w/virtually no wear. Only light wear on ticket. Both Exc. Kennedy came to speak to the Illinois crowd to voice his support for Sidney Yates, who was running against Everett Dirksen in the Senate race in the 1962 midterm elections. This visit was also in the midst of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Yates ultimately lost to Everett in that race, but went on to serve in the House for another 33 years, from 1965-1999.
