Item Description
3.5x5.5". Not only one of the scarcest, but also one of the most coveted, postcard series of the early 20th century. Postcards in this series have green background and bw player portrait photo inside a gold ring along w/surname and team in addition to crossed bats, baseball, diamond and fielder/batter. Back is unused, front photo remains sharp. Nap Rucker was a left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball for the Brooklyn Superbas/Robins/Dodgers. Over his 10 seasons, Rucker lead the league in shutouts, complete games, and innings pitched throughout his Brooklyn career. On September 5, 1908, Rucker became the first left-handed pitcher to throw a no-hitter in Dodger history. At the time of cataloging, this was the only copy of this postcard ever graded by PSA.
