Item Description
2x4x4" tall c. 1933 clock comes in box w/nicely illustrated lid. Top of lid features large image of Mickey w/text "Hickory Dickory Dock Runs Round This Clock." Side panels have wrap-around design w/repeated images of Mickey and Minnie, Horace, Clarabelle and Pluto. Box has scattered dust soiling and trace of edge wear w/2.5" surface paper split at top left corner plus .25x.5" surface paper flake. Top panel has .25" moisture spot on one of Mickey's shoes. Box remains tight and color is strong. Fine. Clock comes w/original warranty paper 4.5x6". Lt. aging and margin wear but Fine. This English version is quite different from the American Ingersoll. Both have a green painted metal case but the design is slightly different. Both have the same 1" wide decal strip that runs across right, top and left sides and features a number of different images of Mickey and Minnie, Pluto, Horace and Clarabelle. The image on the clock face of Mickey is quite different as is the image that appears on the second wheel. On the American version there are three small images of traditional-looking Mickey on the second wheel whereas on this version, there are two images of Mickey running w/extremely long legs. Decal strip has unavoidable lt. aging, some scattered age spots, mostly pinpoint and mostly on the top portion. Case has just a few pinpoint paint nicks and remains totally bright and glossy. Mickey's arms have a couple of minute hairlines in the paint, only noticeable upon close inspection, clock face remains totally bright and clean. The nicest example we've seen. Exc. to N. Mint. Running but not guaranteed to keep time over a 24-hour period. Scarce and this is the first box we've seen.
