Item Description
1.25". Bastian Bros. Co. of Rochester back paper. Nice portrait photo w/text at bottom. In 1909 he managed the team to a first place finish in the Eastern League. Small stain spot on rim at 1 o'clock. Pinpoint indent left of image. Other lt. surface wear only seen in reflected light. All remains bright and glossy. Fine. Scarce. John Ganzel was a first baseman and manager who played with five teams between 1898 and 1908 and managed the 1908 Cincinnati Reds and briefly the Federal League's 1915 Brooklyn Tip Tops. His Minor League career was more prolific as he managed five Minor League teams over the course of 16 seasons including five seasons as manager of the Rochester Bronchos of the Eastern League (1909-11) and Rochester Hustlers of the International League (1912-15).
