Item Description
11x17x1" deep box contains near-complete set © 1939. This large size set is "No. 495" by Fulton Specialty Co. Nice lid art depicting Geppetto putting the finishing touches on Pinocchio. Lid has moderate scattered dust soiling, four split corners plus 3.5" long strip missing from the bottom end panel. Lid remains bright and displays about Fine. Has complete set of ink stamps featuring 13 different characters, standard tin stamp pad. Comes w/11 or 12 illustrated bw sheets, each 7.5x9.5" and a single full color sheet to be used as a guide. Object was to put character images on the sheets using the stamps and the papers were then to be colored although set is missing eight colored pencils. There are four different sheets w/images of street scene showing "Plaza Stromboli," Geppetto's cottage, inside scene of his cottage, sunken ship. Missing only one of cottage interior sheets. Five sheets have ink stamping and/or coloring. There is a 5x7" original instruction sheet which has character stamping on margins. Stamps show normal and typical staining from use. Contents are Fine to VF. First we've seen.
