Item Description
First is 26.75x38" poster for the classic 1954 Kurosawa film "The Seven Samarai." Japanese poster appears to be a reprint with a music motif border. Has 1967 Toho Company Ltd. copyright and has been signed in black felt tip pen by star Toshiro Mifune who has signed in English and his more elaborate Japanese signature. Director Kurosawa has signed in blue ink near Mifune but signature is somewhat over-powered by graphics. Poster has some corner tip wear that does not affect signature areas. VF overall with Mint signature areas. Next is 8.25x11.75" Japanese "Requiem" publication which was published shortly after Kurosawa's death in Sept., 1998. Japanese text and publishing format. Publication deals with his extensive and prolific film career. Issue has handling wear with upper left-hand corner crease to covers. VF. Third item is 3x5.25x1-5/8" deep wooden box containing Japanese card set for The Seven Samarai. Produced by Tambourine Producers in 1999 for the Japanese market. This limited distribution, high quality card set features characters and scenes from movie as well as production information. Cards are Mint. Box has some indentations to wooden lid but is o/w Exc. Comes with Hake's COA.
