Item Description
4.5x8.5" card stock herald features a 3-7/8x4.5" b/w image of music legend Louis B. Armstrong. Text reads "The International Star Louis Armstrong - The World's Greatest Trumpeter And His New Rhythm Band." This herald is for a January 29, 1933 performance at Tomlinson Hall in Indianpolis, Indiana. Herald signals the interest generated by Armstrong's European tour and the fame he began to receive upon his return to the United States. Card has some wear with a horizontal crease at middle, some dust soiling and fading at right-hand corners as well as some corner tip wear. VG. A great early Satchmo piece.
