Item Description
Rare and elaborate Nestle Foods premium. c. 1954-1955, when Nestle sponsored the TV program. Cardboard punch-out premium had assembled size of 5x21x13" tall, although this example appears to never have been assembled. Comes with 5x7" instruction folder. Front shows boy with assembled premium and reads "Hi Space Patroller" with Nestle content. Inside includes instructions, secret code, space travel text and instructions on making space phones out of Nestle's Cocoa containers, coupon for additional cockpits were available for 25¢ and one lid/label. Incredibly detailed cockpit features include - "Inter-Rocket Space Phone, Rocket-To-Station Intercom Phone, Directional Indicator, Cosmic Protector Shield, Gamma Protective Shield, Tracer Scope, Magnetic Pull," etc. Five separate movable cardboard disks are also included - "Master Codes Coder/Decoder, Time Computer Light Years/Space Years." "Radarscope Strato Viewer" is at center. Different images could be changed to show rocketships and planets with planet names. Movable die-cut "Anti-Gravity Rockets/Projectile Forward Rockets" levers and 2.5" long cardboard "Atomic Cannon Barrels" also included. These were used to launch projectiles. Main cockpit panel has some wear with creases and warping as well as two 1/8" tears to bottom margin from staple removal, top margin having six smaller 1/16" staple holes. Fine. Rest of components show only traces of light wear and are Exc. Comes with original mailer envelope which shows heavy wear and has 1.75x2.5" hole. Good/VG. Rare and only the second we've seen.
