Item Description
Toy consists of a 8" tall Mickey figure and 3.5x15x7" tall parallel bars all of which is constructed of thin jigsawed wood covered by thin cardboard with silk-screened design and a lacquered finish. Mickey is attached to a wood rod and rolls back and forth doing summersaults but does not go over the edge as each side has notches to prevent this. Images around bottom of the parallel bars include Mickey, Donald, Dumbo, Timothy and Pluto. This rarely seen toy was produced during WWII and these materials were used in order to conserve materials needed for the war effort. On one side at bottom of Mickey's shoe is a 1x2" area where the lacquer did not adhere properly, however color remains. Toy shows additional scattered trace of wear but overall VF. This is the only example we have ever offered of this toy in our 40 years. From the Tomart Archives and comes with COA signed by Tom Tumbusch & Ted Hake.
