Auction 193 - Part I
Item numbers 1 though 799 in auction 193
Item Description
This brass piece is a closed flower bud .75" in dia. by 1.5" long. About 50% of metallic green accent color remains on outer surfaces of the leaves with vein designs. Circular base has a groove and item is intended to go through a lapel hole. On the end is a 3/16" brass plunger so the idea was to reach behind lapel, push plunger and thus open the 4 large leaves of the bud that spring open widely (about 1.5" between each leaf tip) to reveal a .5" real photo of TR at center. Photo has dot of pink color on bottom edge and pinpoint emulsion dot barely showing off left eyebrow. Image is light but totally distinct details. A great mechanical. Unlisted in Hake and only example we've seen although making second appearance as Auction #185 bidder defaulted. Rare and VF.
