Item Description
7x9.5x2.25" deep box, complete w/insert, contains 7.5" long battery operated hard plastic gun. This is a totally different box variety from the one we offered in Auction #181. This box bears company name "Norton-Honer Mfg. Co." whereas our previous example was by Commonwealth Utilities Co. Both companies were based in Chicago, Ill. This box differs in that the bottom panel has a pair of cut-outs, one of Buck Rogers and the other of a spaceship. Side panels feature additional illustrations of Buck, spaceship and the gun while back panel includes panel designed to be cut out bearing Morse International Code/Buck Rogers Interplanetary Code. This box lid has diecut design. The separate removable box insert has detailed description of the gun noting special features such as "Fission Heat Eliminators/Uranium Powered Chamber/Neutron Release Trigger/Sonic Resonator," etc. Box has trace of dust soiling, scattered edge wear, .5" tears at top two corners but remains tight and Fine. Gun is scarcer color variety in red w/green/yellow accent pieces. Nice futuristic design. These guns are often found not working, however, this example lights and produces noise. Exc.
