Auction 193 - Part I
Item numbers 1 though 799 in auction 193
Item Description
7/8" embossed brass with high relief central portrait with tiny "McKinley" below surrounded by "Protection Prosperity 1896." Finished in dark shade of brass. The interesting aspect is the reverse. There is a 1" vertical stickpin over a silver luster tin back. A tiny segment of the tin back is open on one side with the word "Sound" printed next to it. When this opening is blown into, it produces a pleasant kazoo-like tone. Additional text on back reads "Pat. App'd For C.E.W." A rare novelty pinback we've seen only a few times. VF.
