Auction 193 - Part I
Item numbers 1 though 799 in auction 193
Item Description
2.25" litho. Attached to the button on left by metal tab is a brown/white lithographed tin donkey whose body can be pulled up and down by moving a small black thread attached through nose. This movement provided the affect of the donkey kicking the elephant in the rear end. Some of these were discovered years ago with smoke damage suffered in a warehouse fire. This example is not from that group and is totally bright and clean with only the most trivial paint wear. About as nice an example of this popular mechanical as can be found. Reverse has Chicago address for "Character Display Co." Our last example this clean was fiercely contested and exceeded $500.
