Auction 193 - Part I
Item numbers 1 though 799 in auction 193
Item Description
All from "The World's Columbian Exposition Chicago/1893." Lot of 14. First is 3.25x4.5" employee photo pass issued to "Mrs. C.D. Hubbard/Account Lady Manager/Conn. State Board." Cover folds up to reveal real photo of Mrs. Hubbard with appropriate stamped/signed authorization. Pass holds one-day admissions from Oct. 15, 1893 to Oct. 30. Interesting to note that a female from this time period would hold such a seemingly high position as a manager at the Expo. Light wear and handling use to pass. Comes in original generic leather sleeve (torn). Pass is interesting, unique, Fine. The remainder of the lot contains thirteen 2.25x3.75" tickets to the Fair. "American Bank Note Co., New York" engraved very elaborate tickets with images of Washington, Lincoln, Franklin, Columbus, Indian chief, Handel. Two unused tickets are for "Manhattan Day/Chicago Day." One used ticket expressly for Chicago Day is printed on lighter stock and features an illustration of "Fort Dearborn/Chicago, 1833" on the back. This one shows handling creases and is VG. The remaining tickets are VF to Exc. A nice grouping.
