Item numbers 800 though 2307 in auction 193
Item Description
6.25x8.25" with 32 pages by David McKay Co. ©1931. This book came in both softcover and two different hardcover varieties. This is version with cloth cover that has paper label applied to the front cover. As noted in Overstreet, this is the "First Disney Book By Strict Definition." Illustrated text refers to Clarabelle as Caroline and Horace as Henry. The name Donald Duck appears with a non-costumed generic duck, not in the context of the character that later debuted in the Wise Little Hen. Book features choice full color art on every page. Very light cover wear, mostly at corner tips while the paper label remains bright and glossy. Contents lightly aged. Still a solid VF copy of this historic book. Overstreet 2007 value in VF=$400. From the Joel Cohen Collection.
