Item Description
This is the first Disney licensed publication. 9x12" and a complete copy with all 16 pages. This book had 4 printings but this is the first printing by Bibo & Lang ©1930. A number of distinct differences separate this first printing from later printings. This front cover has cream-colored border, later printings were in green to match the bkg. color. This first printing is without the Win Smith Mickey Mouse strips that were added to page 8 and back cover of the second to fourth printings. Another major difference is the Mickey Mouse song featured on pages 12-14 which contains the lyric censored in later printings "When Little Minnie's Pursued By A Big Bad Villain We Feel So Bad And We're Glad When You Up And Kill Him." Other small text changes exist between this first and later printings all of which is thoroughly detailed in the Official Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide in the Platinum Age section. This book is typically found with pages 9-10 removed but this is a complete copy with these pages intact. Featured on page 9 are "Mickey Mouse Pawns" to be used with "Mickey Mouse Journey" gameboard that appears on page 7. Book also features a Mickey Mouse story of how he met Walt and got his name. Cover has trace of aging moderately so on margins. Minor pinch creases along spine. Small trace of corner tip wear. Backcover has a few tiny brown age dots. Overall cover remains Fine. Contents very lightly aged but totally clean. VF/Exc. This is the 1st first printing we have been able to offer in many years. Overstreet 2007 Fine=$6,000. Consignor has set a very conservative opening.
