Lot of two items. First is 4x6" eight-page booklet issued by The Three Minute Cereals Co., 1930s. Issued upon obtaining the rank of "Lieutenant" and includes secret signs and signals, information on becoming "Captain Of Detectives" and shows the rare badge for this rank which we’ve never seen. Also includes pictures for premiums issued to Lieutenants only, which are "Disguise Spectacles, Secret Keyless Padlock, Secret Lock Box, See-Back-Roscope." Unlisted in Hake's Character Toys Guide and originally came w/Lieutenant badge, Hake's Character Toys Guide SCT-5. Rare premium for this serial detective drama apparently broadcast only regionally. Tiny trace of staple rust, minor soiling to front cover, back cover has a tiny 1/8" tear, apparently where pin once laid against it. Confidential Code Book is 5x7.25” inside front cover includes illustrations of the show's three main characters and first page has individual serial number. Contents include additional illustrations, secret codes, information on becoming a detective and two pages document rank of lieutenant. Scattered wear to cover and contents, obvious wear along spine including noticeable traces of dust soiling and smudges near spine. Original owner name neatly written at top of the cover in ink. Several pages are neatly filled out in pencil. Shows wear but rare. Overall VG to Fine.
