c. 1955 by Peter Puppet Playthings Inc. (see Howdy Doody marionettes #1687-1693). Box lid features Fess Parker as Davy Crockett. Box is worn, lid has edge splits with tape repairs. Good. Marionette has composition head, hands and feet, nicely designed fabric outfit including coonskin cap. Attached to vinyl belt is holster holding small plastic gun and attached at shoulder is a thin vacuform plastic guitar (same style as item #1635). Has attached hand-control unit. Has a 1/8" and .25" paint flake at nose with a few minor hairlines in the paint. O/w entire marionette shows very little wear, clothing remains clean. Still a VF example of this scarce marionette.
