Item Description
6x13x3.5" deep box contains set of 8 Japanese bisque figures issued with candy by Candy Crafters Inc. of Lansdowne, PA. 1938. Product label on one side of box notes these were available for 10¢ each as well as "One Dozen" although this box contains one complete set of 8, Snow White and each of the seven different Dwarfs. Box complete with insert. Lid is worn with heavy crease, 2 side panels loose, one side panel missing. Box bottom has scattered edge wear and a 1" corner split but o/w remains tight. The label remains clean. Good/VG. These candy packages are typically found with the miniature size Disney bisques (see Mickey Mouse item #1496), this is the first larger size Snow White set we've seen and also the first box. Snow White is 4.25" tall, the Dwarfs are each about 3" tall. Different colored cellophane paper was wrapped around cardboard container with candy and tied with a bow. All cellophane and bows remain, candy contents remain on all but 3 of the Dwarfs. Three have notable splits to the cellophane including Snow White and in our photo she is shown without the cellophane wrap but it does remain. Bisques show light trace of wear/dust soiling as boxed over the years but set still remains Exc.
