By 1936, sales of Ingersoll Mickey watches were in decline so the company decided on a revision. For Spring 1937, they issued a new design which had a single Mickey on the second wheel and which was in their first ever oblong case. The new design was marketed at first as a girl's model with a chromium link band and with 2 attached charms of Mickey Mouse, like those on the leather straps from the earlier years, of Mickey facing left. Apparently these charms were quickly used up and Disney contracted with the Briar Mfg. Co., the primary Disney licensee for juvenile jewelry who was producing enamel paint on brass charms of Disney characters for bracelets and sweater pins. The next version pictured in the ads featured enamel on brass charms of Minnie and Donald. We've not seen an ad picturing this version of the watch with Mickey and Pluto charms but these charms are from the Briar Mfg. Co. and are attached to the chromium link band by a tiny brass ring as were the Minnie and Donald charms. On the back of each charm is a Disney mark consisting of "©WD." The watch is in beautiful, N. Mint condition. Under magnification there is just the slightest trivial tone on the second wheel but hardly even visible without magnification. The chrome finish displays Mint and the paint on the Mickey and Donald charms is N. Mint. The watch is running. The only example we've seen and from the Russell Brown Sr. collection.
