Item Description
Lot of 5 pieces c. 1943-44. Sizes range from 3.5x5.5" to 8x9". Two items feature Seabees designs, an unused postcard which is Exc. and a Christmas dinner menu which has moderate handling wear/aging, Fine. Two items feature mermaid insignia for "U.S.S. Pelias." These are envelope with full color stamp and "U.S. Navy" postmark which is Exc. and a souvenir program from the ship's third anniversary which is aged and Fine. Final item is a hand-colored photostat featuring insignia of "Aerologiacal Office, U.S.S. Albermarle" depicting giraffe with head poking through a cloud, looking at the moon and noting the weather. Reverse has imprint of "VJ Squadron Two Aircraft Base Force." Scattered margin wear with some small nicks/pinholes at top two corners. Fine. Nice lot.
