Item Description
Lot of 20, each 2.5x2-7/8" with nice art on fronts, backs are blank. ©1936. From the strip card set "Cartoon Adventures" for which there were 4 different sub-sets. 24 cards comprise the Buck Rogers sub-set which is #425-448. This lot includes cards 425-436 and 441-448. The other sub-sets are Tailspin Tommy, Tarzan and Bronco Bill (there were 8 cards for each of these sub-sets bringing the total of the set to 48 cards). Using our grading scale, conditions are as follows: #435 shows wear with some light creases, VG. #433 has an extremely faint horizontal crease line at center really only visible in reflected light. Fine. #427 and #448 have small traces of margin wear, VF. The remaining 16 cards have just the slightest trace of margin aging and tiny corner tip wear but remain exceptionally clean examples with fairly sharp corners. Exc., few even Exc./N. Mint. These cards are rare, especially in high grade. In the Sixth Edition of Hake's Price Guide To Character Toys these cards book for $100 each in Fine, $200 each N. Mint.
