Item Description
9.5" long tin litho by Masuda, Japan. Late 1950s. Box lid has great design with rocket plane shown in space above the Earth with moon in bkg. Some edge and corner wear and one split corner. Fine. Toy moves along until it meets a stationery object or wall and then nosecone retracts and it automatically stands up. Toy has numerous markings including "X-15, U.S. Air Force, North American." Toy has a few scattered paint nicks and scratches, most wear in the form of moderate paint nicks and scratches to the underneath lever which causes the plane to stand up, this does not show when toy is displayed.
