Item Description
4" long smiling figure lies on stomach with ear to ground. Nicely detailed with separate hoop earrings and colorful beaded necklace. Based on 1903 comic strip "A Tale Of Jungle Imps By Felix Fiddle, Winsor McCay's first published comic strip. In the late 1930s after McCay's death, his son, Winsor McCay Jr. revived the elder McCay's characters. Tops of feet have incised copyright information of ceramic artist Irene Nye. c. 1950s. Also appears to have incised edition number "203." Complete with original necklace, earrings and bead accents at waist and ankles. Light dust to hair, o/w N. Mint. Wonderful design and color. Great detail. Scarce due to limited distribution.
