Item Description
Rudolf Siemering's massive statue of Washington on horseback was dedicated at the Eakins Oval on the Parkway at 24th Street, Philadelphia May 15, 1897. This lot includes real photo stickpin with 7/8" celluloid accented by ribbons reading "Washington Monument 1897." Has some tiny age dots near invisible. Second is 2.75x7.25" ribbon with stickpin reverse. Dated and used the day of the event by the "Fairhill Wheelmen." Center has 2.25x2.75" cardboard real photo. Fabric has short hairline split along right edge of photo but doesn't show. Hairline 1" vertical split bottom left is very minor. Tiny dust soil upper right corner but overall extremely clean. A rare dedication day pair of souvenirs. First seen. See Wheelman's jugate for McKinley and Hobart #176.
