Item Description
Following their first reunion in Las Vegas, New Mexico, the Rough Riders met the next summer in "Oklahoma City July 1-2-3-4." This splendid souvenir button was produced for the event. A Rough Rider tramples the Spanish flag in a field with barbed wire fencing as he shoulders his rifle and holds aloft a flowing American flag. Top extreme rim edge has very thin stain line from 10 to 2 o'clock. This shows very little and all else is totally clean with gorgeous color. Light tone over W&H paper. Our Hake Collection example in Auction #187, two years ago, exceeded $3,000. This is only the second we've seen and we consider it among the rarest and most graphically appealing TR related buttons. At the time, TR was running for V.P. and, like their first reunion, he was in attendance for this second reunion.
