Item Description
Cornelius Vanderbilt was chairman of the Welcoming Committee which staged elaborate festivities at the Battery in NYC. 2.5" tall badge has "June 18, 1910" on hanger. Slight dust discoloration of fabric. Front of 1.25" brass medallion of "Theodore Roosevelt" and reverse with torch, ribbon and olive wreath design reads "Roosevelt/Reception June 18, 1910." While not as graphic as the TR/Ark Welcome Home buttons used that day that sell for thousands, a very limited issue just for those in attendance that day. VF.
