Item Description
This is Hake Taft #98, a 1" cello. No backpaper, likely as issued but with curl copyright 1908 by F.W. Mayer. Reverse collet has oxidation with tanning of the cello edge, but only a very narrow line of stain shows on front extreme edge. In reflected light, a couple cello craze cracks barely show, but moderate crazing all over if magnified. However, visually the colors are exceptionally deep and the gloss is exceptionally high. Only about VG condition but visual appeal remains great. In Hake's 2004 Revised Prices at $582. A modest opening.
