Item Description
1.5" with name of maker Cruver on covered tin back and name of jobber on curl "Houston Stamp & Stencil Co. Inc., Houston, TX." Reads "National Democratic Convention Houston Texas June 26, 1928." Elephant sits chained to a dome of land with agitated teapot on it's peak as donkey kicks elephant's rear end. A foreground cactus symbolizes the convention's Texas location. Surface has numerous but exceedingly small raised bumps showing very slightly on close inspection and in reflected light. Button is totally stain free, perfectly centered, glossy and displays Mint. Although pictured in Political Buttons Book II, this is the first we recall seeing in person. A great cartoon rarity of very limited distribution.
