Item Description
During the Golden Age, Nedor Publications had a long run of exceptional titles. The quality of which matches anything put out by All-American, DC or Timely. This may have been their most successful title and it features a strong team of heroes. Pyroman, The Black Terror, Doc Strange, Lucky Lawrence and the Liberator fight the good fight against the enemies of Liberty. The cover is a striking image done by the renowned Alex Schomburg. Few could pack the excitement into a cover that Schomburg could. With all the action front and center, the casual reader may miss some of Schomburg's detailed approach. Take a look at the right hand corner. As the combined might of the heroes kick down the gates of Berlin, they march right across a Nazi Flag and trample a portrait of Hitler. The cover also features a "Buy War Bonds" stamp. The issue contains the last appearance of the Liberator. The book features off-white pages. It is CGC-certified VF 8.0 by. This copy is recognized by CGC as part of the Pennsylvania pedigree. Cover dated January 1944: this is the third highest graded copy on the CGC Census.
