Item Description
When first introduced, the character of Blackhawk, (as well as the rest of his team), was so popular that he quickly branched out into his own title. By combining so many of America’s wartime allies into one single team, Will Eisner hit upon one of the most perfect concepts in the history of comics. Assisted by the creative efforts of Bob Powell and Chuck Cuidera, Eisner built up one of the most enduring team books in comic’s history. This wonderfully designed cover by Al Bryant really built upon the team concept. Blackhawk and all of his team members each got their moment in the Sun. The center of the cover bears the mighty symbol of the team and served to reinforce the idea that, while all of them are unique individuals, they are still united as one. The book features art by the one artist who has come to be most closely identified with the look of the book, Reed Crandall. The pages are cream to off-white. The book is CGC-certified VF- 7.5.
