Item Description
Early in their career, the JSA met at the beginning of each story and than proceeded individually. By the time this issue appears in 1948, they had begun to work together in teams. Hawkman, Dr. Mid-Nite and Atom travel one-way, Wonder Woman and Black Canary work their own angle and in a precursor to the wonderful team-ups of their Silver Age counterparts, The Flash and Green Lantern follow their own leads. On a separate Silver Age note, the cover concept of the Gold Robot on this cover was repeated during the Justice League of America’s second appearance in Brave and Bold #20. The story is written by John Broome, who also played a tremendous part in the beginnings of the Silver Age. The art was created by Bernard Sachs, Arthur Peddy and Irwin Hasen. Hasen did the cover and many people consider this his best. He expertly incorporated a large number of heroes in a balanced and action-packed manner. The pages are off-white. The book is CGC-certified VF 8.0. It should be noted that this is the first appearance of a new cover logo for All Star Comics.
