Item Description
10x14x7" tall. The consignor of this item originally commissioned Keith to do this as a specialty piece in 1995 at a cost of $900. Keith is known for his one-of-a-kind wooden Disney and other folk art creations. This is constructed mostly of wood along with rubber arms and legs on the figures as well as metal tails and eyelashes on Minnie. Superbly crafted, painted and detailed. Mickey stands next to the piano Minnie is playing and attached to this is facsimile sheet music for "Minnie's Yoo Hoo/Mickey Mouse Theme Song." Next to the piano is a pot with fabric flowers and attached to the simulated hardwood floor is a fabric rug. This image is based on the last panel of the March 6, 1932 Sunday page by Floyd Gottfriedson. On the back panel of the piano in ink, Keith has added "Mickey And Minnie With Apologies To Walter E. Disney" signed and dated by him July 1995. One of Mickey's wrists has a minor .25" hairline in the rubber material only noticeable when viewed closely and this hand still remains firmly attached to the piano. O/w Mint as made. Unique.
