April, 1937 issue of "The National Magazine Of The Toy Trade." 9x12" and much larger Toy Fair issue with 318 pages. Great textured paper cover including silver bkg. highlight and inset illustration of Mickey on his way to the Toy Fair pulling a parade of pull toys representing Disney licensees such as Seiberling, Fisher-Price, Lionel, Knickerbocker, Ohio Art, etc. Pull toys are represented by either the company's factory buildings or actual toy products they produced. Contents mostly bw but with some color/full color ads. Highlights include Mickey and Donald tops distributed by Borgfeldt, Popeye toys by Bar Zim, Halsam Disney blocks, Popeye flashlight display, Popeye figural and dime banks, arcade vehicles, multi character page for films including Mickey/Popeye/Betty Boop/Krazy Kat/Our Gang, Steelcraft bikes and riding toys, exceptional Seiberling ad showing rare Disney store display that includes 8 different figures along with a Popeye ball, N.N. Hill Brass Co. with Disney pull toys, Donald Duck and Tom Mix rocking toys by Mengel, Dionne Quints aluminum dish set, Cameo Doll Co. showing Popeye, Pete the Pup and Jeep, two-page Knickerbocker ad featuring 4 Donald Duck dolls and 3 Mickey Mouse dolls, much, much more. There are also several interesting articles including one titled "Buck Rogers Embarks On A New Adventure" with Dick Calkins, "Mickey Stars At The Toy Fair" with Kay Kamen, "Kiko The Kangaroo At The Toy Fair" featuring the first appearance of this Terrytoons character (rare rubber doll is shown). Moderate scattered cover wear. 4" tear on back cover with glue repair. Front cover has 6" crease at top right corner, small margin tears, cover remains bright and clean. Cover VG/Fine. Contents Exc. A superb issue, one of the nicest we've seen.
