Item Description
15.75" dia. 2-sided translucent dark red vinyl for programs 49-50, "The Silver Arrow" and "The Pan-Am Highway" storyline which were initially broadcast Nov.-Dec., 1941. Radio program began Feb., 1940 as a 3 times a week radio serial and was discontinued in Mar., 1942. Show was revived due to fan demand in Aug., 1942 and continued until Feb., 1949. Bud Collyer starred as the voice of Superman. Paper label has classic image of Superman breaking chains on each side. Sound Studios Of New York Inc. name appears on label as they were the makers of disk, produced by Western Electric Co. 33-1/3 rpm. "A" side of label has scattered spotting and streaks from glue application as is normal with labels of this type. Label is cut along groove at outside edge and has surface paper lifts, not greatly detracting from overall appearance. "B" side has additional label applied and partially removed. Only 50% remains and with some effort this could be totally removed exposing the full label underneath. Record has light wear, overall VF. Original sleeve shows some wear and is VG.
