Item Description
Lot of eight 2.5x3.75x1" deep candy boxes by Phoenix Candy Co. 1966. ©NPP Inc. Front and back panels of each back have differing images of Batman and Robin with villain side panels differing as well. Numbers and titles are: 1/2 - The Joker, 3/4 - The Blockbuster Bandit, 5/6 - The Bouncer, 7/8 - The Deathman, 9/10 - Carnado The Magician, 11/12 - The Penguin, 13/14 - The Caveman and 15/16 - The Riddler. Boxes came with non-Batman, Cracker Jack-like toy and candy, all of which have been removed. These were sold in countertop boxes, 24 boxes per carton, box 3/4 being short-packed with only 1 box per carton making a whole set difficult to obtain. Top of each box shows illustration of these boxes strung together with text "Make A Batman Gadget Belt! String The Empty Boxes Through The Side And Then Place Around Your Waist." Meant to mimic Batman's fabled utility belt. These boxes have not been altered and remain whole. "The Blockbuster Bandit" box 3/4 shows wear with crease to side panel and has interior flap at bottom with tape repair. Fine. Rest of boxes show lightest trace of wear and are clean, bright and N. Mint. From the Craig Warren Collection.
