Item Description
1-5/8" litho with curl copyright symbol and reads "1952 William Boyd." Displays clean and Exc. but in reflected light 8 hairline scratches are on Hoppy's face. They barely break the paint and unless viewed with a glass are nearly invisible. This is the highest ranking award button for the early 50s bank savings programs for children. The club folders from 1950 specify the highest rank button as "Foreman" which was given to children reaching the $500 savings level. This button is from 2 years later. It was awarded to club members who recruited one new savings account member for the sponsoring bank, either an adult or another child. If the member recruited 3 new members, an Honor Member wallet with Hoppy decal on brass front was awarded. Without question, it is the rarest of the USA series and this is third example we have seen in 41 years.
