Two 14x17" folders each contain 12.5x16" acetate and bkg. sheet. Limited edition of 950 hand-painted character cels from 2 Mickey Mouse cartoons, "The Alpine Climbers" (1936) and "The Little Whirlwind" (1941). Edition is one of a series of selected limited editions of original artwork from animated Disney classics. Original cels used in the production of cartoons are no longer available, but the Disney Studio has re-created the artwork, inking the original animation drawing and transferring it to acetate cels. The colors are Disney-created, acrylic-based paints that were hand-applied by Disney painters. Each cel comes with bkg. scene reproduced using as reference original bkg. paintings, sketches and frames from the film and printed on high-quality paper. Each cel has official "The Walt Disney Company" stamp. "The Little Whirlwind" is from scene 12 in which Mickey approaches Minnie hoping to get a piece of pie. "The Alpine Climbers" is from scene 7 and shows Mickey securing Pluto to a boulder with a rope. Issued in 1988 by The Walt Disney Company as part of Mickey Mouse's 60th birthday.
