Item Description
18x44.5" professionally framed and beautifully double-matted display contains large and extremely vibrant concept art for use in 1940 animated musical feature. Odd-shaped panel measures between 10.5x37.5". Done in watercolor with India ink accents, art depicts a segment that did not appear in "Fantasia." Done in similar style to Walt Disney's "Woodland Café" Silly Symphony, art shows an insect symphony, with musicians playing leaf string instruments, flower "brass" instruments, reed wind instruments and caterpillar-topped harps. Great details with some performing on toadstools with lavish large toadstool acting as opera shell in bkg. Attached label plate reads "Fantasia Concept 'Insect Ballet' September 14, 1938." Very impressive due to its size, detail and brilliant colors. Displays N. Mint.
